New 2010 programme of webinars for delegates across all industries shows how digital technologies – including wireless and electronic marshalling – can help maximise output and reduce costs

Emerson Process Management announces an extensive 2010 programme of free web seminars that focus on the use of smart technologies within the process industry. The programme follows on from the highly successful series of events in 2009 when hundreds of delegates were shown how Emerson’s Smart Wireless technologies could be applied to enable operational improvements.

The new programme runs from February to May 2010 and covers six key topics including Smart Wireless and I/O options such as the latest electronic marshalling, a powerful new technology that streamlines design and installation for users. Each webinar is in English and is repeated on consecutive days to accommodate multiple locations and time zones. To join, delegates need to register in advance at www.EmersonProcess.eu/WirelessWebinar

The 45 minute webinars will use typical applications based on existing installations to demonstrate how digital technologies such as wireless can improve plant efficiency; increase the effectiveness of operations and maintenance staff, and provide advanced warning of problems before they have a negative effect on the process. Tailored to the needs and interests of plant management, projects, operations, and maintenance personnel across the process industry, the seminars will be fully interactive, enabling delegates to pose questions directly to the presenters during the event.

The programme starts on Feb 1st and 2nd with ‘(Doing) More with Less’ which focuses on the challenge that all producers face to do more with less. Next in the series on February 15th and 16th is ‘Wireless in Projects – A Faster, Cheaper, Manageable Infrastructure’. This is followed on March 1st and 2nd by ‘Improving Production with Wireless’ which focuses on the dramatic improvements that the use of wireless technologies can make to production. The programme continues on March 15th and 16th with ‘More Reliability and Less Maintenance with Wireless’ which covers maintenance effectiveness and efficiency.

On April 12th and 13th ‘I/O on Demand: Decide what type of I/O you want on your project’ looks at various I/O options including the latest electronic marshalling, a powerful new technology that streamlines design and installation for users.

Finally, on May 17th and 18th will be ‘Digital Oilfield of the Future’. This webinar will look at the effects of changes in the way people are working on a day-to-day basis to produce oil and gas in a more efficient way.
